Just 5 days ago, I'm chatting with Clay Westervelt in his office in Silverlake, California. This 'chat' is my 2nd interview for a position with his production company, Imaginaut Entertainment. I walk in and Clay and his friendly staff immediately greets me. Clay is finishing up his lunch and I'm talking to one of the production coordinator about Sundance and of course movies we love.
Then I was welcomed to Clay's office, he asked me if I had my resume before we even sat down. I said I don't have my resume because I just moved here and I really had no way of printing it out. I'm thinking this interview is over before it even begins...my heart sinks.
I said I have a website and my Bio is on there. Clay jumps onto his laptop and there is a moment of silence, at this point my throat is dry and I can barely speak. "Why do you want this job?" asked Clay. I said, "I'm new to L.A. and I would like to establish my name here in production and learn how to produce." Clay and I talked for about an hour and he said that he would get back to me next week on Thursday after he finishes his second rounds of interviews.
Tuesday today and I get an email from Bill Hix this morning asking me if I'm still interested in the job. (Apparently he called me and I didn't receive his voicemail.) So, I'm like...HELL YES!!! I want the job!!! But actually, I said, yes I will accept the job offer and thank you for giving me this opportunity to work for such an awesome company!! #hired
