Last month, my producer, Tom Cullingham, asked me if I wanted to go to the El Dorado Film Festival for our film MAYA on September 15-18. MAYA directed by Veemsen Lama will screen twice in Los Angeles the week before and it will simultaneously screen both in New York and El Dorado, Arkansas. And of course I said YES to El Dorado!!
Our little spudnut of a movie won the Road to El Dorado Foreign Film this year. And even though winning best foreign film was exhilarating and exciting, it was meeting the organizers ——Richard Wharton, Laura Barrow, Alex Jeffery, Emily Anne Cole, Austin Barrow, Pamela Griffin —— and the rest of the El Dorado's staff, volunteers and community that made my experience truly memorable. Plus, chatting with other filmmakers and producers from all over the world and having dinner with the beautiful and talented Joey Lauren Adams didn't suck either.
Thank you to the El Dorado Film Festival and everyone that I have met there. I hope to see everybody again next year!
